Volunteer
Volunteering at Mulberry Moon Farm
We love welcoming people who want to spend time outdoors, learn how food is grown, and lend a hand on the farm.
Volunteering is a great way to connect with the land, get your hands in the soil, and experience the rhythm of a working farm.
Whether you want to come once in a while or more regularly, you are welcome! Read on to find out how to get involved.
Casual Community Volunteering
We welcome casual volunteers throughout the growing season, from April - November.
The easiest way to volunteer is to sign up for a day and shift that fits your schedule. Our work changes throughout the season, but each day usually has a general focus.
Weekly Farm Rhythm
Mondays — Greenhouse & Crop Care
This might include seeding in the greenhouse, pruning tomatoes, trellising cucumbers, greenhouse cleanup, or other crop care tasks.
Tuesdays — Field Work
Weeding, planting, bed prep, trellising, or tackling whatever field task is most needed that week.
Wednesdays — Wash, Pack & Harvest
Harvesting vegetables and preparing them for our Farm Share program.
Thursdays — Wash, Pack & Harvest
Washing and packing vegetables, sorting crops, cleaning garlic, or finishing harvest for CSA.
Because farming is seasonal and weather-dependent, the exact task may change from week to week depending on what the farm needs most.
Volunteer Shifts
Morning Shift
9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Lunch Break
12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
Afternoon Shift
1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Most volunteers stay for 1–3 hours; choose what works for you.
If it’s your first visit, arriving at the start of a shift works best so we can get you oriented.
What to Bring
Please come prepared for farm work:
Closed-toe shoes

To volunteer, simply fill out our sign-up form and choose a day and shift:
When you arrive, come find Kim or Alex and we’ll get you started.
Work-Share Volunteers
We also offer a small number of work-share volunteer positions for people who want to be more regularly involved with the farm.
Work-share volunteers commit to one regular 3-hour shift each week throughout the season. In exchange, they receive a weekly Farm Share — a bag of fresh vegetables grown right here on the farm.
Work-share volunteers help with tasks like:
Harvesting vegetables
Washing and packing produce for CSA
Greenhouse work like pruning or crop care
Field work such as planting or weeding
This is a great fit for people who want to learn more about farming, spend time outdoors, and become part of the weekly rhythm of the farm.
If you're interested in a work-share position, please email us.
A Few Things to Know
Farm work can be physical, repetitive, muddy, hot, or rainy depending on the day. We’ll show you what to do, and no previous experience is required.
We’re grateful for everyone who wants to lend a hand and be part of the life of the farm.
